About the dance school

The Maestro Dance School was founded in Prague in 2001 by Eva and Petr Bartuněk, three-time world champions and three-time winners of the world’s most prestigious competition, the Blackpool Dance Festival in England, in the Senior Latin category.

TŠ Maestro runs a wide range of courses open to the public and to every age group. Our focus is above all on Latin-American and ballroom dances for couples, on ladies’ dancing for women without a partner, and on classes for children and young people. We also offer private tuition, wedding-dance preparation and dance demonstrations for all kinds of occasions – which can be combined with a dance lesson – and we organise events with a dance theme, seminars with international guests and much more.

Two of our perennial favourites are the “Ballroom Dancing Differently” courses and PRO-AM dancing, in which solo participants dance with professional partners (PRO-AM stands for professional-amateur).

Teaching is relaxed and informal, and we speak Czech, English and Russian at the school.

In the same year, an agreement and collaboration between TŠ Maestro and DP Image design s.r.o. gave rise to DanceHall, a modern multi-purpose dance studio in Prague which houses the dance courses run by both companies.

At the Maestro Dance School you will be taught by Eva and Petr Bartuněk together with other instructors drawn from among our former and current students – dancers of the highest performance classes.
