Preparatory classes

Teaching follows the school year. You need to re-register for each semester on the TŠ Maestro website using the pupil’s or student’s login. New pupils can only be admitted directly into a higher-level course after prior agreement with the TŠ Maestro management.

A preparatory class for children aged 3–6. The course follows the school semester and continues with a follow-up course.

The lessons cover:

• the basics of Latin-American and other social dances
• general movement training

Each semester culminates in the Academy – a showcase performance by all the non-competitive and competitive groups of TŠ/TK Maestro.

We do not teach during public holidays, official school holidays, or when the dance school has extraordinary commitments.

Taught by Barbora Mahenová, an all-round dancer, Czech champion in figure waltz and a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University in Prague (Physiotherapy).

Fee: CZK 3,300 per semester.

TK Maestro membership

Participants in the preparatory courses automatically become members of the TK Maestro sports dance club, registered in the Sports Register of the Czech National Sports Agency (NSA). The basic TK Maestro membership fee is included in the course fee – there is nothing extra to pay.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in filling in the TK Maestro club membership application once, with all the details required by the NSA. The form is filled in only once (not every semester). If you have already submitted it in the past, you do not need to do so again unless your details (address, contact) have changed.

Application form to download: Club membership application. Please send the signed, scanned application by e-mail to info (zavináč) tsmaestro.cz and hand in the original at the dance school reception when you first come to the course.

Payment

Account for TŠ Maestro course payments: 255612308/0300. Payment reference (variabilní symbol): the child’s date of birth in DDMMYYYY format; please add the child’s name in the note field.

Consent to the processing of personal data

By registering for a course of Maestro – taneční škola s.r.o. or a group of TK Maestro, z.s. I consent to the collection, storage and processing of the personal data contained in the registration form for the purpose of providing the agreed service, informing me about the services offered and sending information messages by electronic means under Act No. 480/2004 Coll., and further for the purposes of dance-sport competitions, grants and the reports required by sports and state organisations and institutions.

The advanced preparatory class for ages 8–15 covers:

• general movement training
• the basics of Latin-American and other social dances (ballroom dances, Caribbean dances)

Each semester culminates in the Academy – a showcase performance by all the non-competitive and competitive groups of TŠ/TK Maestro.

Children who attended Rising Stars in the previous semester are expected to move on – in agreement with their coach – to the Sólo Dance group, which trains children and youth more intensively (twice a week) for competition in the solo and duo/synchro categories.

We do not teach during public holidays, official school holidays, when the dance school has extraordinary commitments, or under extraordinary measures declared by state authorities. Changes of instructor are reserved. Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková is the lead coordinator; other coaches may assist with teaching.
